Terms and conditions

  1. The promoter is Schoolyard Heroes Pty Ltd (ABN 44 690 191 265), trading as Scully Outdoor Designs, 7D/1-3 Endeavour Rd, Caringbah NSW 2229.
  2. The giveaway opens when this page is published and closes 5pm AEDT, Friday 30 October 2026. Entries received after closing will not be judged.
  3. Entry is open to Australian primary, secondary, combined and special schools. Entries must be made by a staff member authorised to accept the prize on the school's behalf. One entry per school; if a school enters more than once, only the first entry will be judged.
  4. By submitting an entry, the entrant confirms they are authorised to enter on behalf of their school and accepts these terms.
  5. To enter, complete the form on this page, including an answer of 25 words or less to the question "Tell us where you'd put it if you won".
  6. This is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winner. Entries will be judged on Wednesday 4 November 2026 by a panel from the promoter on creativity and how well the entry explains the need for shade. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  7. The prize is one 4 m square Hurricane Umbrella, in the school's choice of canopy and frame colour from the current range, supplied and installed (inground or bolt down) at the school. The prize is valued at approximately $7,500 (excluding GST).
  8. Installation is included for schools within metropolitan areas of Australian capital cities. Schools outside these areas may be asked to contribute to travel costs for installation. Any contribution will be confirmed with the school before the winner is announced, and the school may decline the prize, in which case the next best entry will be selected.
  9. The school must provide a suitable installation site and arrange any approvals its school system requires (for example asset or facilities approval). Installation will be scheduled with the school at a mutually agreed time.
  10. The winner will be notified by email and phone by Wednesday 4 November 2026. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not accept the prize within 10 business days, the next best entry will be selected.
  11. The prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.
  12. With the school's permission, the promoter may publish the winning school's name, entry and photos of the installed umbrella on its website and social media.
  13. Personal information collected is used to run the giveaway and to contact entrants about the promoter's products. Entrants can unsubscribe at any time. See our privacy policy for details.
